Kanipaiyur wins title

KUNNAMKULAM: Kanipaiyur won the all-Kerala inter-YMCA basketball tournament here on Monday.

In the final at the YMCA courts, Kanipaiyur defeated Kottayam 68-57.

Manoj top-scored for Kanipaiyur with 18 points, while Bibin Mathew was the leading scorer for Kottayam with 16 points.

Kerala State Sports Council president T.P. Dasan gave away the prizes to the winners.

The result (final): Kanipaiyur 68 (Manoj 18, Kannan 16, Sijo 11) bt Kottayam 57 (Bibin Mathew 16, Arun Mohan Das 14, Anoop 14).
