Srinagar: A musk deer that had possibly strayed out of its habitat was on Monday rescued on the outskirts of the city and handed over to wildlife officials. The deer, believed to be three-years-old, was captured with the help of locals at Kundanpeth-Habak in Nigeen area, a police spokesman said. He said it was then handed over to wildlife officials of the Dachigam National Park about 20 km from here that is home to the ‘hangul’ or Kashmiri red deer.
