Clothing factory coming up in Cheyyar at Rs.300 crore

TIRUVANNAMALAI: A clothing factory is coming up in Cheyyar in Tiruvannamalai district at a cost of Rs.300 crore, and the company will begin production soon, according to Food Minister E.V. Velu. Inaugurating the distribution of colour televisions (CTVs) to 11,691 families under the third phase of the free CTV distribution scheme at a function got up in Doosi in Cheyyar taluk on Sunday, Mr. Velu said that many more industries would be started soon in Cheyyar.

While a total of 87,807 CTVs were already distributed to beneficiaries in Tiruvannamalai district, 1,30,500 CTVs would be distributed to beneficiaries in the district this year. While 1087 free cooking gas stoves and connections were already given to beneficiaries in the district, 25,894 more families would be given stoves and connections before March 31 this year. A total of 3,713 persons were given free cooking gas stoves and connections on Sunday, he said.
