House surgeons block highway

BERHAMPUR: The agitating house surgeons of the Biju Patnaik Homeopathy College in the city blocked the NH 217 in front of their institution for several hours on Monday asking the State government to hike their allowance to Rs. 5,000.

They disrupted the city traffic in a big way as police did not use force to remove them from the road and the vehicles on the highway were diverted. The road blockade also posed a great problem for the patients visiting the city hospital located in the area as they also blocked all connecting roads to the highway at that point.
