Bar associated decision flayed
BANGALORE: The Law Course Advocates’ Association of Bangalore has taken exception to the Hubli-Dharwad Bar Association’s decision not to represent terror suspects. In a statement on Monday, Association President S. Umesh said: “Every person in this country regardless of his crime has the right to defend himself. It is the “vruthi dharma” of an advocate to provide legal assistance to any person who seeks it. Refusing to extend legal assistance is against the ethics of an advocate.” The law would take its own course and it is not correct for advocates to pre-judge a case, he said.
