Honour: Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph greeting the new additional judges of Karnataka High Court Ravi Malimath (left) and B.V. Nagarathna in Bangalore on Monday. BANGALORE: Two new additional judges of the Karnataka High Court, B.V. Nagarathna and Ravi Malimath were sworn in on Monday morning. Mr. Malimath and Ms. Nagarathna are from the Bangalore Bar. While Mr. Malimath is the son of former Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court, V. S. Malimath, Ms. Nagarathna is the daughter of Supreme Court Judge (late) E.S. Venkataramaiah. The Chairman of the Karnataka State Bar Council, C. Shivakumar, welcomed the new additional judges at a special sitting of the High Court held at Court Hall No.1. Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph read out the oath of office to both the judges. Mr. Malimath and Ms. Nagarathna thanked the Bar Council chairman and others for the welcome extended to them. While Ms. Nagarathna sat on the Bench of the Chief Justice in Court Hall No.1, Mr. Malimath was on another Division Bench with Justice V.G. Sabhahit. With the swearing in of the two new judges, the strength of the judges in the Karnataka High Court is now thirty eight.
