CPI(M), MIM walk out over land distribution
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The CPI(M) and Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) staged a walkout in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Monday protesting neglect of poor and deserving sections in the Government’s land distribution programme.
The MIM was more strident in its criticism of the Government alleging that the Muslims received a raw deal in the four rounds of land distribution during Congress rule.
Owaisi’s charge
Leading the walkout by the party, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said that Muslims were allotted less than one per cent of the total land though they constituted 11 per cent of the population.
