JD(S) bags top posts in Kollegal TMC

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Janata Dal(Secular) candidates N.V. Parameshwaraiah and G.M. Suresh were elected president and vice-president respectively of the Kollegal Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) here on Saturday.

Mr. Parameshwaraiah, M.P. Shankar of the Congress and M.R.S. Babu, a Janata Dal (Secular) rebel, were the three who filed nomination papers for elections to the post of Kollegal TMC president.

Categories

The posts of president and the vice-president were reserved for the categories of BCM(A) and Scheduled Tribe respectively.

Mr. Parameshwaraiah secured 19 votes and Mr. G.M. Suresh 20 votes.
