Ganja worth Rs. 5 lakhs seized

Hundred kilograms of ganja worth about Rs.5 lakhs, in the agency areas of the district, was seized by the City Task Force police on Monday.

The ganja bought at Devarapalle was processed and packed at Paderu for onward transport to Delhi, where it commands a huge price. On a tip-off, the Task Force SIs Lakshmana Murthy and K. Ananda Reddy conducted a raid and seized the stock while it was being taken in an autorickshaw.

The accused A. Appa Rao and the auto driver J. Raju were taken into custody. Investigation is on.
