Baskar stars in SRI’s big win

CHENNAI: A. Baskar (104 n.o.) guided Southern Railway Institute (SRI) to a comfortable win after its bowlers R. Kamesh and R. Dinesh had helped dismiss Rising Stars for 149 in a TNCA second division league cricket match here recently.

Second division:

Rising Stars 149 in 46.4 overs (E. Ravi Prasanna 56, Syed Rehmathullah 56, R. Kamesh four for 49, R. Dinesh four for 35) lost to Southern Railway Instt. 150 for two in 27.2 overs (A. Baskar 104 n.o.).

AG’s Office 211 for seven in 50 overs (N.P. Balaji 69, M. Bilva Prasad 54) lost to ICF 212 for six in 48.5 overs (D.R. Anbu Ezhil 66, Vijay Shankar 59).

Sical 132 for seven in 44 overs lost to Southern Railway 133 for eight in 41.3 overs (Benz Raj 60, S. Madhavan five for 47).

Third division: ‘B’ zone: Book Sellers 137 in 31.3 overs (K. Sukumar five for 64) lost to Garnet 141 for three in 28.5 overs.

Fourth division:

‘C’ zone: TRC 157 in 30 overs (Mahendran 40, Ranganathan 49) lost to Madras Emmanuel 161 for eight in 44.5 overs (P. Prem 40).

Youth Centre 180 in 48.1 overs (Yusuf Y. Laila 49, D.N. Shenoy six for 70) lost to Vijay’s RC 183 for eight in 46.4 overs (Sridhar Balaji 65 n.o.).

TSR MSC 157 in 48.2 overs (M. Kumar 40, Eashwar six for 59) lost to YMA 158 for eight in 33 overs (Seshadri 66, M. Kumar four for 53).

Fifth division:

‘B’ zone: Globe 170 in 47.2 overs lost to Chatnath 175 for six in 42.3 overs (Ananda Kannan 54, Mani Bharathy 42).

‘D’ zone: Komaleeswarar 125 in 38.3 overs (Shikhar Hukku four for 51) lost to Sir MCTM Old Boys 126 for five in 32.5 overs.

PSBB-PS SSS ‘A’ final

PSBB (K.K. Nagar) will meet PS SSS ‘A’ in the final of the P.C. Sekhar memorial under-13 cricket tournament to be held at PS SSS (Mylapore) here on Tuesday.

The scores (semifinals):

PSBB (K.K. Nagar) 181 for six in 30 overs (Adithya Giridhar 41, Ashwath Mukunthan 45 not out, S. Vignesh 45, V. Arvind three for 33) bt Jawahar Vidyalaya 87 for six in 30 overs (K. Ashwath 43 not out, Ashwath Mukunthan three for 21).

Santhome HSS 168 for five in 30 overs (C. Karthik 67, B. Sai Rupesh 32) lost to PS SSS ‘A’ 172 for two in 28 overs (M. Adithyan 91 not out, M.S. Suraj 63).

Rahul sizzles

B. Rahul’s 129 was instrumental in Santhome ‘A’s 215-run win over St. John’s English School and Junior College in a semifinal match of the B. Somasundaram Trophy-TNCA city schools under-15 cricket tournament here on Monday.

Santhome ‘A’ 301 for six in 50 overs (B. Rahul 129, R. Vishnu 44, A.R. Anand Kumar 27 not out, R. Ricky Jones 25, S. Selva 25) bt St. John’s ES & JC 86 in 45.4 overs (S.R. Vibhu 32, R. Ricky Jones three for 10).

Sundeep scalps six

S. Sundeep’s spell of six for 23 went in vain as Syndicate Bank lost to Central Bank by 39 runs in a second division match of the Kancheepuram DCA cricket league here recently.

Kattankalathur 90 in 27.4 overs (R. Padiarajan four for 37) lost to Brindavan 94 for one in 20.3 overs.

Garnet 152 for nine in 30 overs (R. Karthick 63, M. Senthilkumar five for 54) bt S. Rly. Institute (Tbm) 113 in 23.4 overs.

II division: Central Bank 86 in 17.3 overs (S. Sundeep six for 23) bt Syndicate Bank 47 in 14.3 overs (S. Venkataraman four for 13).

Blue Bird 139 for five in 20 overs (Karthick 66) lost to Asian SC 141 for five in 19.3 overs.
