Plea will now be heard on Feb. 25 Asif, Shakil taken to Bangalore for narco analysis HUBLI: The hearing on the bail application of Mohammed Asif, who is in CoD custody for his alleged association with the banned Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), was put off to February 25, here on Monday. As Judicial Magistrate First Class (First Court) S. Srinivas was on leave, the bail application moved by senior counsel Ismail Jalagar was taken up by the JMFC (Third Court). Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Kiran Patil appealed to the court that as the period of CoD custody of Asif would end on February 25, the hearing could be taken up after that. Consequently, Judicial Magistrate First Class (Third Court) Ashok adjourned the hearing. Mr. Jalagar, who moved the bail application on behalf of Asif, had filed an application under Section 303 of the Cr. PC on February 12 seeking permission from the court for an interview with his petitioner (Asif) after the CoD officers, filed objections against granting bail to Asif. As of now, the CoD have registered cases against Asif under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 129 (b), 121, 121 (a), 122, 124 (a), 153 (a)(1), (a)(b), 153(b), sections 10, 11, 13 of the Prevention of Unlawful Activities Act 1967 and sections 3, 4, 5 of Explosive Substances Act.
