Newborn stolen from hospital

TUMKUR: A newborn baby boy was allegedly stolen from General Hospital in Tumkur on Monday night.

Police said Triveni of Swandenahalli was delivered of a male baby at around 8.30 p.m. The police said the doctor, who attended to the labour work, handed over the baby to Triveni’s sister. Even Triveni’s husband was present.

The police said an hour after a stranger woman got the baby from Triveni’s sister as if to cuddle the baby and escaped in the melee.
