The coming Saturday promises an unforgettable experience for the residents of Thiruvananthapuram hooked to hi-tech gizmos. They will get an opportunity to get up close to state-of-the-art robots. The robots will be showcased at a seminar organised by the Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management-Kerala in association with the Centre for Bioinformatics, University of Kerala and the Institute of Engineers & Telecom Engineer s (IETE), Trivandrum chapter. The robots were developed in the research lab of the Electrical and Computer Science Department, National University of Singapore (NUS). The team headed by Prahlad Vadakkepat will display various robots such as GeNUS Humanoid, which can dance, balance on one leg and play soccer. Other robots to be featured are MicroBot, BioMorph and Spoke wheel. Two research scholars Ng Buck Sin and Hong Choo Yang from the NUS are part of the team.
