Rajahmundry: Dillip Kumar, Director and Vice-Chancellor of Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai, has asked Asian countries to take proper measures to save aquaculture in the region. Otherwise they were going to be importers in coming 15 years. He said that at present 90 per cent of world aquaculture was being done in Asian countries only. Addressing second day of the national workshop on `New directions and dimensions of Aquaculture and Fisheries’ on Tuesday, organised by Adikavi Nannaya University, he said that there were a few challenges ahead of aquaculture industry, among them technical feasibility, economic viability, social acceptability and environment.
