290 bags of ration rice seized in Mettur

METTUR: A team of personnel seized 290 bags of rice meant for supply under the public distribution system (PDS) near here on Tuesday. Police said the personnel conducted a vehicle check in Pasakuttai village near Taramangalam and intercepted a lorry. They found 160 bags of PDS rice in the vehicle and arrested lorry driver Parthiban. In another vehicle check conducted in Kolathur, police intercepted a lorry and found 130 bags of PDS rice in it. The personnel seized the rice. Further investigation was going on.
