Viswapati Trivedi is NACIL joint chairman

NEW DELHI: Viswapati Trivedi has been elevated Joint Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL), which came into existence after the merger of the public sector Air India and Indian last year.

Mr. Trivedi, belonging to the 1977 batch of the IAS from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, was till now its Joint Managing Director. He will hold the rank of Additional Secretary, an official release said here on Tuesday.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet also approved about a dozen other senior-level appointments of IAS officers, mostly from the 1977 batch, who have been promoted Additional Secretaries.

Among them, Shamsher K. Sheriff has been appointed Secretary to the Vice-President in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.

Pradeep K. Deb has been elevated Senior Adviser to the Executive Director, Asian Development Bank, Manila. Alok Rawat has been posted as Secretary, Union Public Service Commission.

B.K. Sinha of the 1975 batch of the Bihar cadre has been appointed Director-General, National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad, and R.S. Sirohi of the 1974 batch of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Secretary, National Commission for the Scheduled Tribes, in the rank and pay of Secretary.
