“We want a leader like Raj Thackeray” slogan raised Security tightened on the premises after the incident HYDERABAD: About 15 members of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s student wing took the police by surprise on Tuesday when they suddenly appeared at the Assembly entrance and made a vain bid to enter the lobbies. Shouting slogans like “we want a leader like Raj Thackeray ” and demanding introduction of resolution on separate Telangana in the Assembly, they came from TRS Legislature Party office and sat down in the portico catching the police off-guard. After some time, they stood up and tried to enter the lobbies but were prevented from doing so by the policemen. Mild force was used to chase them away to the main entrance first and then to the Public Gardens where they were arrested by Saifabad police. Inside the Assembly, the TRS members were suspended for the second time in less than a week for disrupting the proceedings demanding that the House pass a resolution for formation of a separate Telangana State. A similar scene was enacted in the Council and three TRS members were suspended for two days. Soon after Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy announced that he was rejecting adjournment notices tabled by the Left parties and the TRS, placard-waving members stormed into the well and raised slogans. The Speaker stated that most of the issues would be covered during Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s reply to the debate on the Governor’s motion of thanks. As the din continued, the Speaker adjourned the House for about 25 minutes. After the House re-assembled, TRS members again trooped into the well and raised slogans. The Speaker then directed Legislative Affairs Minister K. Rosaiah to move the motion for suspension of 10 members, including TRS floor leader G. Vijayarama Rao. Some of the TRS members were bodily lifted and carried out of the House by marshals.
