Man drowns

MALAPPURAM: A man holidaying with friends drowned in the Adyanpara waterfalls at Nilambur. Shiju Pariyapurathu, 33, from Ramanattukara was bathing in the waterfalls on Tuesday afternoon when the tragedy happened. He was part of a nine-member group who came to Nilambur on bikes. Some of them started swimming after having lunch. Although local people tried to save Shiju, he died on the way to hospital. The body was kept at the taluk hospital. — Staff Reporter
