JAIPUR: Noted economist and chairperson of the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) in Jaipur, V. S. Vyas, has been nominated as a member of the National Council for Land Reforms headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The Council was established recently with the mandate to lay down broad guidelines and policy recommendations on agrarian relations and land reforms. Its other members are six Union Ministers, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman, Chief Ministers of 10 States and seven experts.
