Conference on spine care

NEW DELHI: To discuss the impact of recent medical advances in management of various spinal injuries, a three-day international conference will be held at Hotel Taj Palace here beginning this Friday.

Bringing together over 500 participants from all over the world, the theme of the International Spine and Spinal Injuries Conference (ISSICON-2008) is “Recent advances in spine care”. Thirty-six distinguished foreign faculty members and 85 eminent national faculty members will deliberate on various aspects related to spinal injuries.

Organised by the Spinal Cord Society (Indian Chapter) and the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, the conference will deliberate on “Role of stem cells in management of spinal cord injuries in human beings”, “Pre-hospital management of trauma patients”, and “Advances in rehabilitation management of spinal injuries” besides others.

To be inaugurated by Delhi’s Lieutenant-Governor Tejendra Khanna, ISSICON will be followed by a three-day post-conference workshop on “Management of spinal cord injuries” beginning February 25.
