233 tonnes of cement sold in Tiruvarur

TIRUVARUR: A total of 233 tonnes of cement have been sold by the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation so far in the district according to the Collector, M. Chandrasekaran.
He told presspersons here on Monday that 487 tonnes of cement was available with the TNCSC for sale.
There was a stock of 46 tonnes in Tiruvarur godown, 100 tonnes in Nannilam, 74 tonnes in Kodavasal, 83 tonnes in Valangaiman, 56 tonnes in Mannargudi, 56 tonnes in Needamangalam and 71 tonnes in Thiruthuraipoondi.
The Collector also said that the quantum of cement purchased by consumers had been increased to 400 bags per person.
Besides this 25 bags could be purchased for maintenance or repair work.
Cement was sold at Rs.200 per bag and there was no loading charge at the godowns.
