Steps to open Commercial Taxes office

PERAMBALUR: Steps were being taken to open an office of the Commercial Taxes Department in Perambalur soon, said Collector Anil Meshram.

Speaking at a meeting of the Sales Tax Consultative Committee here on Tuesday, Mr. Meshram said the office would be opened bowing to the demand put forward by traders. He said that traders with an annual turnover of up to Rs.10 lakh have been exempted from VAT. The DRO, P.Shankar and the Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, K.Kaliyamurthy, attended.
