Vocational training centre for women inaugurated

TIRUPUR: Rotary Club of Tirupur North on Monday inaugurated a vocational training centre for women, Gurukulam, with monetary assistance from Rotary E-Club, New York, USA.
Marlene B. Brown, District Governor (District 7150), Rotary International, inaugurated the centre, which was established at a cost of Rs.7 lakh.
Use opportunity
According to Thamby K. Varghese, president of Rotary Club of Tirupur North, sewing, hand embroidery and computer literacy will be taught to the poor women at the centre in Karumarampalayam.
L. Narayanasamy, District Governor (District 3200) of Rotary International, asked the beneficiaries to use the opportunity to overcome poverty.
Charter president P.V. Ravi and Assistant Governor A. Appusamy spoke.
