MAHABUBNAGAR: TRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao alleged that Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy so far has sold out Telangana lands to the extent of Rs.15,000 crore. Addressing a public meeting at Jedcharla town in the district as part of his ‘Bus Yatra’ on Tusesday he questioned “selling of agriculture lands and Government lands is development.” He alleged that Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy was instigating the Telangana protagonists by ridiculing the Telangana demand openly to give the movement a violent turn like in 1969 and wanted to curb it. He said Dr. Reddy who is harping on development in Telangana region should know that 4,600 farmers and handloom weavers in the region have committed suicide and over 15 lakh farm labourers in Mahabubnagar district migrated. He exhorted the intellectuals, youth and students to turn Mahabubnagar district into another Karimnagar. He said people of Mahabubnagar though were facing many hardships due to the backwardness of the district were docile in nature and exhorted them to turn rebellious to achieve Telangana. He said that Telangana State would be formed next day, if all the MLAs and MPs of Congress party hailing from Telangana region submit their resignations. Justifying the decision to resign to the posts of MLA and MP Chandra Shekar Rao said that they have taken this decision to mount pressure on Congress high command. He said that Sonia Gandhi has insulted senior leaders like G. Venkat Swamy by not giving appointment to them. “This is nothing but insulting Telangana people,” he said. Former Vice-Chancellor of Kakatiya University and Telangana idealogue Jaya Shanker said that bursting of pipelines in Devadula project is perfect example of how the lift irrigation schemes are being constructed by the Y.S. Government in the region. Earlier on his arrival at Kaveramma peta on National Highway 7, K. Chnadrashekhar Rao was given a rousing welcome and a huge motor bike rally was taken out by the TRS activists.
