‘Don’t convert stations into public toilets’ response

In response to the last Public Eye on world class railway stations, T. Paramasivan, residing in St. Johns Road, says: “Railway stations and tracks all over India are used as public toilets and it is difficult to go to the railway stations in the morning hours. The first and foremost job of the Railway Minister should be to see that the chemical toilets are used.”

Alexis T. E. Papali of Kammanahalli says that to serve hot food in railway stations, vendors can also use hot cases. Reservation of rooms in the budget hotels that the railways proposes should be made available to passengers who have booked the tickets with provision to automatically cancel the room reservation if the ticket is cancelled.
