IT practical test from February 27

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Five lakh students in the State will appear for the IT practical examination that will be held on a GNU/Linux platform from February 27 to March 7.

Categories

The examination will be held in five categories: the general scheme, for the visually challenged, for the physically challenged, for the hearing impaired and for those writing the examination under the old scheme.

The practical examination will be held in the same manner in which the model examination was conducted. The software to be used for the examination has been installed in all schools. As many as 163 master trainers and 6,000 trained teachers will oversee the conduct of the examination.

All examination-related material and handbooks will reach district education offices before February 22.

The IT@School has kept ready 39 call centres for the smooth conduct of the examination.

Call centres

The call centres will begin operations on February 25 and can be reached through the government’s call centre on number 155300. There will be call centres in all educational districts.

The VICTERS channel which broadcasts over the EDUSAT will air special programmes in connection with the practical examination from February 24 onwards. Details about the examination can be had from the web site www.education.kerala.gov.in, executive director of the IT@School Anvar Sadath says.

A special examination will be held in one selected school in each revenue district for students who could not take part in the practical examination of 2007.

The special examination will be held on March 7 using the same software used for the examination of 2007.
