Body parts of infant burnt

Mathura: In a shocking incident, a married couple has burnt the private parts of a 10-month-old infant with a hot iron rod here, police said.

An FIR in connection with the incident, which occurred 10 days ago, was filed on Wednesday by the grandparents of the child on Superintendent of Police Sanjai Kumar’s order after their complaint was not registered by the area police. The incident happened when one Harimohan and his wife brought the child to their residence and sexually assaulted the baby, they said, adding when he became unconscious, they left him on a cot and ran away. The condition of the child, who is rushed to hospital in Agra, is stated to be serious.
