Protest against illegal mining

BANGALORE: In protest against the official inaction to curb the rampant illegal mining in the districts of Hassan and Kodagu, the Karnataka Rakshana Pade on Wednesday held a protest in the city. Despite the Government order banning mining in the Western Ghats, unregulated mining continues, destroying the environment and hampering the lives of people, said V.S. Sridhar, State secretary of the organisation. — Staff Reporter
