Strike to hit banking operations

BANGALORE: Banking services in the public sector are likely to be affected on February 25 and February 26 following the decision of officers and other staff to protest against the move to merge associate banks with the State Bank of India and seek solution to problems in connection with the pension scheme.

Nearly 40,000 officers and staff of nationalised banks had decided to strike work, State Bank of Mysore secretary S.R. Pawar said.
