President Musharraf deserves to be congratulated on conducting the elections without rigging. The outcome of the elections is heartening. If the U.S. keeps out of the process of ministry formation, there is a greater chance for a stable government in Pakistan. With this election, the chances of democracy taking firm root in Pakistan have increased. A democratic Pakistan will go a long way in establishing peace in the sub-continent. H.K. Seshadri, Bangalore Despite being routed in the elections, President Musharraf cannot be written off. It remains to be seen how the India-Pakistan peace process forges ahead with Gen.
