Gold at new peak

NEW DELHI: Gold prices surged to touch the record of Rs. 12,000 per 10 gram level for the first time in the bullion market here on Wednesday on aggressive buying by stockists and retailers amid strong global cues. Standard gold and ornaments shot up by Rs. 200 each at Rs. 12,040 and Rs. 11,890 per 10 gram respectively.
