KOLKATA: Unseeded Vivek Shokeen of India came good with powerful service and sharp returns to down fifth-seeded Peng Sun of China 7-5, 6-3 in the pre-quarterfinals of the Coal India ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament here on Wednesday.

Shokeen’s service game, packed with 10 aces, never allowed Sun to settle down in the match.

The results:

Singles (pre-quarterfinals): Alexander Satschko (Ger) bt Simeon Ivanov (Bul) 6-1, 6-3.
