Jupiter earn promotion

BANGALORE: Jupiter scored a 4-1 win over Bharath Mata to clinch the second position from Zone ‘E’ of the ‘C’ division football league which concluded at the IISc grounds here on Wednesday.

Jupiter’s tally of four goals helped it pip Thamaraikannan SC on better goal difference and joined Students Union (22 points) from this zone to earn promotion to ‘B’ division.

Thamaraikannan too finished with 21 points but had a goal difference of plus eight to Jupiter’s plus 12.

Prabhakar (4th), Rajesh (24th), Manimaran (37th) and Santosh (70th) scored for Jupiter while Vikas notched the lone goal for Bharath Mata in the 48th minute.

Queen’s Star and ISRO (from zone A), Mico and Minerva (from zone B), Modern Boys and Bangalore Mars (from zone C) and Young Muslims and New Lucky Star from zone D were the other teams to earn promotion to B division.
