Karamjit steals the show

NEW DELHI: Karamjit Singh struck three goals to guide Namdhari XI to a 3-2 victory over Bharat Petroleum in a Group ‘B’ quarterfinal league match of the fourth Oriental Bank Maharaja Ranjit Singh hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium here on Wednesday.

Amar Aiyamma and Jarnail Singh kept the Petroleum team in the fray in the first half with a goal each, but Karamjit who had put the Namdhari team ahead with the first goal in the seventh minute, not only found the equaliser midway through the first-half, but also the match-winner in the 25th minute of the second-half.
