Chennai: Port Trust scored a convincing 4-0 victory over Madras Blues in the senior division hockey league championship at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium on Wednesday. What added an element of excitement to this contest was the manner in which Port Trust obtained all the four goals in a space of 20-odd minutes. Held goalless till midway in the second half, Port Trust exerted pressure to push the Blues defence in disarray. Divakaran signalled the goal hunt, and three more came in a space of five minutes between 63 and 68. A penalty corner by Gopi enlarged the lead and this was followed by a field goal from Mahesh and then by Rajarajan. Earlier, SAI ‘A’ prevailed over Tamil Nadu Special Police by two goals to nil, both surfacing in the first half. Albert John struck first in the 12th minute, and Vikram netted the other in the 25th minute. Mohit in semifinalsTamil Nadu’s J.
