VISAKHAPATNAM: Holder Metro CC warmed up with a 175-run win over City CC, with K. Harikrishna helping himself to a century (123, 6 x 4, 6 x 6) in the 15th annual The Hindu Trophy prize money cricket tournament at the ACA-VDCA stadium here on Wednesday. Former winner East Coast Railway Sports Association beat Galaxy by four wickets in another match at the Port Stadium. Both winners entered quarterfinals. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant received a walk over from County CC and moved into pre-quarterfinals. Man of the Match Harikrishna and P. Chandrasekhar (34) added 92 runs for the second wicket and with contributions from B. Sumanth (39) and V. Abraham (32), Metro posted 256 for five in 50 overs. City CC was dismissed for 81 with only M. Chandramouli (27) batting well. Metro’s Jagan Mohan Sai claimed three wickets and Ch. Sneha Kishore had two. Good standECoRSA coasted to an easy win with P. Madhusudhan (57, 11 x 4) and D. Narendra Kumar (45, 7 x 4) putting it on a strong footing with a 90-run stand for the second wicket as the team chased a target of 180. Kumara Swamy, who earlier picked up three wickets, remained unbeaten on 48 (4 x 4) as the team reached the target with 16 overs to spare. L. Sravan Kumar and Rajeev Krishna claimed two wickets each. The best part of Galaxy innings was the 46-run stand for the second wicket between Rajesh Yadav (49, 6 x 4) and L. Sravan Kumar (21) while Jasbir Singh made 30 and M.S. Deepak scored 25 runs. Andhra spinner G. Shankara Rao claimed two wickets. The scores: Metro CC 256 for five in 50 overs (K. Harikrishna 123, B. Sumanth 39, P. Chandrasekhar 32, V. Abraham 32) bt City CC 81 in 25.2 overs (M. Chandramouli 27, Jagan Mohan Sai three for 29). Man of the Match: P. Harikrishna. Galaxy CC 179 in 49.5 overs (Rajesh Yadav 49, Jasbir Singh 30, M.S. Deepak 25, M. Kumara Swamy three for 23) lost to East Coast Railway Sports Association 180 for six in 34 overs (P. Madhusudhan 57, K. Kumara Swamy 48 n.o., D. Narendra Kumar 45). Man of the Match: P.
