In a statement here, the Minister said cooperatives had mobilised additional deposits of over Rs.15,000 crore during the past 20 months and organised more than 10,000 cooperative markets besides reducing interest on farm loans. A sum of Rs.175 crore was spent in the coir sector, he said. The Minister said that unlike the previous United Democratic Front government, the present Left Democratic Front government did not tolerate illegal actions by Devaswom Board members. Mr. Sudhakaran said the Opposition leaders Ramesh Chennithala, G. Karthikeyan, M.M. Hassan, P.K. Kunhalikutty, M.V. Raghavan, R. Balakrishna Pillai and K.B. Ganesh Kumar had spoken in a threatening manner about his reaction to the Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s remarks on the Kerala government during her recent visit to the State. Such threats would not receive public support, he added. BJP seeks probeMeanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State general secretary M.T.
