Global education fair from tomorrow

TIRUCHI: Education wings of embassies of the US, Australia, New Zealand and European and Asian countries will participate in a two-day global education fair to be hosted by Kailasapuram Club in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited Township here on February 23 and 24.

Visitors to KIET ’08 (Kailasapuram Club International Education Treat) will have access to information on higher education in the UK, Germany, France, the United States, Australia and Taiwan, said G. Venkataramani, club president and General Manager, BHEL. The club has invited 850 colleges to the fair.

Through face-to-face counselling and presentations on selection of universities, organisations representing the embassies will enlighten students on application procedures, course details, tests to be taken, admission and visa procedures, course fee, scholarships, accommodation and other relevant information pertaining to graduate, post-graduate and doctoral programmes in all disciplines including Science, Engineering, Medicine, Law and Management.

For the first time, several embassies would be directly participating at a common venue. It would be a unique opportunity for students to obtain information directly from officials of the institutions the embassies represent, said N. Rajasekaran, secretary, Kailasapuram Club.
