DU students ransack college Principal’s room
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Some students led by the Delhi University Students’ Union vice-president Devraj Tehlan allegedly ransacked the room of the Principal of Shivaji College in support of the college students’ union president, Manoj Kumar Yadav, who has been under suspension for the past one month.
Manoj alleged that three students had made baseless allegations against him following which he was suspended from the college. He claimed that despite the complaint having been withdrawn by them, his suspension had not been revoked. “Last Thursday I began a hunger strike after which the Principal called me in the evening and inform me that my case had been referred to the disciplinary committee. I had given them five days. Since no decision was taken on my case till Wednesday, Devraj and some members of the DUSU team met him regarding the same,” Manoj claimed.
He added that he would launch a fast-unto-death till his demand were met.
