Elaborate security for counting of votes

Nagercoil: The police have made elaborate security arrangements to ensure peaceful counting of votes for local body posts to be taken up in different parts of the district on Friday. The counting of votes would be conducted in 13 centres.
The votes for Ayyacode panchayat president would be counted at the Thiruvattar block development office, ward member posts of Kulasekaram (9), Puthalam (4), Kappiyarai (11), Agastheeswaram (9), Pudukadai (5) and Thiruvattar (11) of town panchayat wards would be counted at the respective town panchayat offices.
Votes for the post of Munchirai panchayat (2nd ward) would be counted in Munchirai block office. Similarly the votes for the post of Ayyacode fourth ward would be counted in Thiruvattar block development office, second ward of Thenkarai panchayat at Kurunthancode block development office, Thirupathisaram fourth ward at Thovalai block development office, Kaniyakulam third ward, Melashankarankuzhi third and fourth ward in Rajakkamangalam block development office, Sadayamangalam one and Maruthurkurichy ward at Thuckalay block development office, Palur 1 and Mullankinavilay wards at Killiyur block development office.
The local body elections recorded 57 percentage of voting in the district. The ward members of Thinkal Nagar town panchayat, Maharajapuram and Enayamputhenthurai village panchayat wards were elected unopposed.
