Warm welcome: Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao during his road show at Devunpally in Nizamabad district on Thursday. KAMAREDDY (NIZAMABAD Dt.): The Asheerwad yatra of Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao seeking blessings of people for his fight for separate Telangana evoked a good response in the district on Thursday evening. All along the way from Biknoor, Kamareddy, Devunpally and Lingampally people lined up and gave him a rousing reception. BonaluWomen attended his meeting in a large number. Some of the women, including Zilla Parishad chairperson G. Anitha, carried “bonalu” on their heads. They put vermillion on his forehead at Devunpally. The former Union Minister was to attend a public meeting here around 1 p.m. However, as his arrival was delayed he did not speak anywhere from Biknoor to Devunpally. He however attended a public meeting at Lingampet mandal headquarter. As usual a number of artistes of party cultural troupe entertained the gathering before his address. Mr. Rao clarified that he did not cast any aspersions against people of Rayalaseema nor hurt their sentiments. “I just explained at Vikarabad meeting as to how the party MLA Nayini Narsimha Reddy had to react to the criticism of Congress leaders from Rayalaseema,” he said. Dwelling at length on how the Muslim minorities were neglected over the successive governments, he wanted to know why Muslims having more than four lakh crores worth of Wakf properties were in ire straits. He alleged that the leaders in the government were plundering the Wakf properties. Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao demanded the Congress legislators to resign for the cause of separate Telangana State.
