NEW DELHI: Two young men have been arrested by the East Delhi police on charges of abducting and killing two persons earlier this month. The New Ashok Nagar police on February 5 received a complaint that Tapas Dutta (33) had gone missing. Enquiries revealed that his business partner and friend Anuj Chaudhry (25) had also gone missing the same day. Accordingly, a case of abduction was registered. The police learnt that Tapas’ body was found dumped at Surajpur a day after he had gone missing, whereas Anuj’s body was found on February 8. Enquiries in the locality where Tapas lived revealed that he was close to a woman named Sadhna. Subsequently she and her parents were questioned. It came to light that Sadhna had a marital discord with her husband and had extramarital relations with Rajkumar Sharma. On February 1, Sadhna and Rajkumar had gone to Allahabad to attend a court hearing. On their way back when Sadhna received a call from Tapas, Rajkumar then allegedly conspired with his accomplice Mukesh to abduct him. On February 4, the accused took Sadhna’s father, Tapas and his friend Anuj to Chaura Raghunathpur where they thrashed Tapas to death. They dumped the body and then allegedly killed Anuj and released Sadhna’s father.
