Promoting IT, in Malayalam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The logo and brochure of the campaign to be launched by the Kerala State IT Mission to popularise computing in Malayalam were released at Thiruvananthapuram on Friday by poet V. Madhusoodanan Nair. A press note issued here said the IT Mission’s campaign comes at a time when the UNESCO has declared February 21 as the International Day of the Mother Tongue and 2008 as the International Year of Languages.

Though a large number of Malayalis use the computer only few of them use Malayalam as their medium of computing.
