PANAJI: The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), the State Government’s entertainment arm, would soon organise weekend film screenings of critically acclaimed cinema. The idea is to promote film culture and encourage a good cinema movement in the State, which had become the permanent venue for International Film Festival of India(IFFI), said Nikhil Desai, general manager of ESG and Director of Information on Thursday. He said Konkani films produced by Goan artistes, which fail to get commercial outlets, would be given a platform through the programme. The Director of Information said the State Government was trying to improve its existing scheme for film producers.
