Ludhiana: The brick sidelining of First Patiala Feeder Canal, the first project under the irrigation programme for rehabilitation and strengthening of major canal system costing to Rs. 3243 crore in Punjab, has been completed within a record period of 37 days and the flow of water in the rejuvenated canal will be released on Saturday. Janmeja Singh Sekhon, State Minister for Irrigation, along with the senior officers of the department inspected the total newly-completed stretch of 23.17 kms of canal starting from Bhadewal on Friday. The brick sidelining of this canal would enhance the flow of water capacity by 27 per cent.
