Endosulfan victim dies

KASARAGOD: A 38-year-old youth Venkappa Naik, who was undergoing treatment for diseases which were reportedly caused by the spraying of Endosulfan in cashew plantations near his home, died at his home at Vani Nagar near Perla here on Friday.

Mr. Naik was a casual labourer.

Mr. Naik developed cardiac problems at the time of Endosulfan spraying. He was confined to bed during the last 18 months.

Mr. Naik is survived by his wife and son. — Staff Reporter
