Pawar to open NCP State conference
Special Correspondent
KOCHI: The three-day State conference of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will be held at Thrissur from April 25.
The party’s national leader and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar will open the meeting, K. Muraleedharan, State president, has said.
At a news conference here on Friday, Mr. Muraleedharan alleged that the Congress was bent on destroying the NCP and the taking in of K. Karunakaran was part of this strategy. [Mr. Karunakaran who floated the Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) and later merged it with the NCP has since retuned to the Congress.]
He alleged that the ruling Left Democratic Front was kicking up ‘useless controversies.’
