BJP ready for Lok Sabha poll, says L. Ganesan

Staff Reporter

THENI: Equitable standard education and linking of rivers in the country would be our main issues in the election manifesto of the forthcoming parliamentary poll, said L. Ganesan, State president, Bharatiya Janatha Party.

Talking to media persons here on Friday, he said that BJP had won the assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh on the basis its policies only. Forecasting that the Parliamentary election would come within a year, he said that the BJP was in a comfortable position and it announced its prime ministerial candidate too. To a question on alliance with AIADMK, he said, “Many new parties may join with the BJP and opportunities for that are very bright. The BJP and the AIADMK have similar ideals,” he said.

“Our alliance may revive.” There were a lot of conflicts between Congress and its allies.Despite its presence in the Congress alliance, the CPI (M) has been trying to form a third front.

A 15 member committee would choose the party’s candidates for the Lok Sabha poll. A bike rally would be held between Andipatti and Goodalur to highlight the Periyar dam issue, he added.
