Hoardings to be removed

Staff Reporter

Put up violating a government order

MADURAI: The city police will remove all hoardings that have been erected in violation of recent government order, the Corporation Commissioner, D.J. Dinakkaren, has said.

In a statement, he said that the Government had ordered that hoardings with regard to functions and festivals could be put up three days prior to the function and two days after it. However, some people placed hoardings days before the function and failed to remove them later.

Such hoardings would be removed by the respective police and the expenditure incurred on it would be collected from the advertisers.

Stating that police action would be initiated against the violators, the Commissioner urged the people to follow the norms.
