Jyothir Lingam darshan in Tiruchi from Sunday

TIRUCHI: The Brahmakumaris World Spiritual University, Tiruchi chapter, will organise ‘12 Jyothir Lingam darshan festival’ in the city for six days from Sunday .

The models of the famous 12 Saivite pilgrimage centres in the country along with their history and importance will be on show at the festival which will be held at the Sri Vasavi Mahal near Junction.

The people will get an opportunity to have a glimpse of the models of Kasi Vishwanath Temple (Uttar Pradesh); Mallikarjunar Temple (Andhra Pradesh); Omkareshwar Temple (Madhya Pradesh); Somnath Temple (Gujarat); Rameswaram Temple (Tamil Nadu); Nageswarar Temple in Karachi seashore in Pakistan; Kedarnath Temple (Uttar Pradesh); Mahakaleswar Temple (Madhya Pradesh); Vaidyanatheswarar Temple, Krishneshwar Temple and Trimbakeshwar Temple (all Maharashtra); and Bhimashankar Temple (Arunachal Pradesh).

Live image shows of nine deities including Goddess Visalakshi, Meenakshi, Lakshmi, Saraswathi and others and cultural programmes by the students will also form a part of the festival, the additional in-charge of the Tiruchi chapter of the Brahmmakumaris, B. K. Kavitha told presspersons here on Friday. This is the first time that such a festival is being organised in Tiruchi city and it will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. A silence hall has also been set up at the venue to enable the visitors to the exhibition to meditate.

Similar exhibitions held at Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Erode, Vridhachalam, Cuddalore, Uthagamandalam, Tirupur and Karur had evoked overwhelming response.
